Understanding Paradigms

[su_spacer size=”30″] I know what you’re thinking…

Changing your paradigm is too hard.

So I have a suggestion for you…

Instead of trying to change your entire paradigm, focus on just one part of it. A part where you can start to see better results very quickly.

I’m talking about paying attention to how you use your time.

I guarantee if you become more mindful of how you spend your precious moments, you’ll enjoy a fuller, happier, more prosperous life. So let’s concentrate on just that for now.

Here are 7 tips to help you start changing your paradigm by mastering the use of your time:

1. Keep a log.
Carry a notebook with you and record all your thoughts, conversations and activities for a week. You’ll see, in black and white, how much time you spend actually producing results and how much time is wasted on unproductive thoughts, conversations, and actions.2. Create a goal-oriented to-do list.
Use what you discovered from your log (see tip #1) to create a to-do list for each day. Don’t ever arrive at the office or in front of your computer without a clear list of priorities that are aligned with your goal(s).

3. Create time slots.
Assign a time slot to complete each priority. This includes scheduling time to study or other activities that generate creative and expanded thinking.

4. Visualize your desired outcome.
Take five minutes every morning to visualize the day that you want to experience. Decide what results you want to attain from everything that is on your to-do list. This will help you know what success looks like before you start.

Also, take a few minutes after each task or conversation to determine whether your desired result was achieved. Express gratitude if it was. If not, what went wrong? How do you correct it so it won’t happen the next time?

5. Work with a sense of urgency.
Use your will to focus on the task at hand so you get a lot done in a short period of time. One way to do that is to give yourself an imminent deadline to complete a project.

For instance, give yourself 48 hours, instead of a week, to complete a task. The time constraint forces you to focus on execution, and you have no choice but to do your best right now.

If you gave yourself a week to complete the task, that’s five days for you to make a mountain out of a molehill. And I assure you, the end product from the shorter deadline will almost always be of equal or higher quality due to greater focus.

6. Spend your time where you get the greatest results.
As you get better at mastering your time, you’ll start to see which activities, thoughts, conversations, and actions produce the bulk of your results. Think 80/20 Principle.

Start to identify the 20 percent of your thoughts and activities that result in 80 percent of your desired outcomes and happiness. Focus on those things, and ignore the rest.

7. Turn productive tasks into habits.
Once you’ve identified the tasks that give you the greatest results, start doing them every day. So rather than spending two 5-hour sessions on a productive task each week, spend 1.5 hours daily.

Turning productive tasks into habits will replace time-wasting habits in your paradigm.

The intention of these tips, and what you will experience if you use them, is an increase in productivity, ability to earn money, efficiency, and creativity—all things that are controlled by your paradigm.

Now it’s time to stop reading and start shifting your paradigm. Use these tips, and let me know if this week’s video is helping you take back control of your life.
