Have you been participating in our monthly affirmation series? We started it back in January of this year, and it’s been phenomenally popular. There’s nothing like having a clear, positive, directional statement to focus on during your day. It really does make a huge difference in your outlook and your results.
I especially love that we’ve made this month’s affirmation available as a download so you can set it as your phone screen or desktop background. I did the latter, and this marvelous statement has been presiding over my workspace as I make preparations for our LIVE Science of Getting Rich event in Dallas, Texas next month. As a result, there’s one word element of this affirmation in particular that keeps jumping out at me:
Opportunity.
Opportunity is a concept that Wallace Wattles explores in an especially interesting and important way in The Science of Getting Rich. Specifically, he poses the question, “Is opportunity monopolized?”
That’s the way most people think about opportunity… isn’t it? That there’s a finite supply of it in any given area. That there are only so many opportunities to go around. That an opportunity once seized upon by a person is gone from the world for good; one fewer in an ever-diminishing number.
The truth, as revealed by Wattles in his groundbreaking book, is just the opposite. Here’s what he as to say:
[blockquote align=”none”] There is an abundance of opportunity for the man who will go with the tide, instead of trying to swim against it… The visible supply is practically inexhaustible; and the invisible supply really IS inexhaustible. [/blockquote]Any lack of opportunity you sense is simply a (correctable) misperception on your part. Opportunity is always there. It has to be. It’s the way the universe is designed!
Cultivating an understanding of opportunity as something infinite and limitless is one of the most important and beneficial things you can do for your future. Once your mind fully accepts this truth, you will never again be stuck or overwhelmed by feelings of resentment or unfairness. You won’t waste time dwelling on “what could have been” or wondering “why not me?” You’ll simply keep moving, confidently and calmly, until you find what you’re looking for, knowing all the while that you WILL.
