When Anik Singal asked me to speak at another one of his conferences, I immediately jumped at the chance and graciously accepted the offer. I love Anik and everything he represents, and felt honored to be able to share the stage with him and Bob Proctor at the Inbox Blueprint “Live” event in Las Vegas with over 500 people in attendance. Additionally Anik did a simulcast streaming video that allowed people from all over the world “observe” the event from the comfort of their home. Another 1,000 people were looking on.
When Anik made the request for me to speak I assumed he wanted me to do my standard talk on “How to Make Your Book a Best Seller & Create Revenue Streams from Your Subject Area”. My signature “talk” seemed to always be focused on that one area of my expertise. However, I discovered a few weeks prior to the event that Anik had a different topic in mind for me. Anik sent me an email and requested that I speak on the topic of: How to use book publishing to build an email list and a digital following!
Anik’s request prompted me to make a decision to finally finish my book The Millionaire Author and give it away as a lead generator and expand on my own email list. The Millionaire Author was a book idea that I was percolating on for a while. The book cover was designed and I had been delivering webinars on the subject matter and teaching programs, but didn’t have the book completed.
With one week prior to Anik’s event, I decided to get the book done. This would not be my first book. I had written books before. In fact, I wrote my eighth book in a weekend, therefore, I should easily be able to complete my ninth book in one week. My only challenge, the week was jammed packed full of appointments, speaking engagements and some travel.
I decided to seek some help to get the book written and invested in the services of one of my clients Jennifer Colford who happened to be a ghostwriter. I sent Jennifer the transcripts from a multi-webinar series that I delivered called The Millionaire Author and she went to work. I asked her to get the book done in one week and she agreed.
Amazingly, one week later I had an electronic version of my book, an opt-in page created and when I jumped on stage at Anik’s event I announced to the 1,500 people watching that they could go to my special opt in page and grab a free copy of the new book! Hundreds of people opted in to my site to download a new copy of my electronic book.
Here’s where the story gets even better.
A few days after Anik’s event, and my return to home, an idea popped in my mind. The idea: to get the electronic version of the book prepared for a print version. In other words, get a paperback book so that I could literally hold the book in my hands.
Following this thought, I engaged in the services of my sister Judy’s publishing company for self-published authors called Hasmark Publishing. I called Judy and asked her if she would be willing to help me get the book prepared, formatted and designed for the print version and uploaded to Amazon.com within a few days. She was up for the challenge and immediately went to work. Judy and her team went to work.
The day after the formatting began I thought … “wouldn’t it be nice to have endorsements (reviews) for the book” and decided to see if I could secure some within a matter of hours. En route to another speaking engagement and while waiting at the lounge at the airport for my flight to board, I posted a message on Facebook asking for endorsements for my new book, but the challenge was, they had to download the ebook, read it and get back to me that day!
I knew my request was a lofty one, and thought perhaps one or two people may be willing to take me up on this task. Within twenty-four hours I had twenty-nine amazing endorsements for the book! I was blown away.
My goal was to get the book uploaded and ready for sale so that I could speak about the book at the next speaking engagement which was a couple of days away. I wasn’t sure if my sister and her team were going to be able to get my book formatted and uploaded in a matter of days, but they did it and on Tuesday, October 21st at 6pm my book The Millionaire Author was available on amazon.com in paperback!
And, then another idea popped in my mind!
What if I could make my new paperback book The Millionaire Author a best seller in one day?
I was up for the challenge. I’ve made many books international best sellers, New York Times Best-Sellers, but I’ve never done that in one day. Could I do it? Well, I decided to give it a try. I registered the domain name: http://TheMillionaireAuthorOffer.com and created a sales page. One of my friends who is a copywriter and a web designer jumped on board to help me design the special offer. He lives in Austria and got online hours before I was out of bed on Wednesday morning. He had a beautiful sales page ready and emails constructed for me to send out to my own list.
Promotional emails were sent out, facebook posts were placed, and within hours my book The Millionaire Author was a worldwide Best-Seller including being the #1 Mover & Shaker in the world and it was a Best Seller in the Category called SUCCESS. How appropriate is that?
I know the Universe loves speed, and this experience was another example of how everything will align when you are on purpose. To move from book idea, to book creation, to an electronic book completed, to a paperback book being formatted, uploaded, available on the biggest website in the world for sale (amazon.com) and then to become a best seller and all of this accomplished in under three weeks! That is a personal record for me and another example of what’s possible.
What are you capable of doing? Don’t hesitate – get out there and make it happen!
