The “Glue” in Results That Stick

Results that stick. You see that phrase a lot around here. It’s the Proctor Gallagher Institute tagline, and I just love it.

What I love is that it communicates so succinctly an incredibly important fact that you must understand and implement if you’re going to achieve what you want to achieve.

After The Secret came out, a lot of people (who hadn’t seen or read it, only heard about it) believed the idea was that if you just sat around and thought about what you wanted in life, it would magically appear. Some tried this, didn’t get what they wanted (of course), and never tried again. Others used this mischaracterization to deny the truth of the Law of Attraction altogether.

Both groups had it wrong.

The power of thought is without question. It is the essential starting point; the electricity that activates the source of all creation. If you don’t form a clear, firm vision in your mind of the results you want to achieve, you will never achieve them — because they will never come into existence in the first place.

But thought is not everything. Not by a long shot.

Results vs. results that stick

My new book, ABCs of Success, explains the effect of thought without action:
Nothing can result so negatively as thinking positively
without the action which fulfills that thinking.
And Wallace Wattle’s landmark “little green book”, The Science of Getting Rich — a life-changing book for me, explains the difference between results and results that stick with perfect clarity:
By thought, the thing you want is brought to you.
By action, you receive it.
Put another way: Thoughts create your results. Action makes them STICK.

I’m going to assume you’ve already done a good amount of “thought work” on the results you want.

That’s excellent. It means your results have been created and are moving towards you right at this very moment.

But at a certain point, that movement will stop. Your results won’t come any closer. It becomes your turn to move. Only your action will close up the distance and make them your living, breathing reality.

So tell me. What are you going to do today in order to receive your results?

Is there a phone call you could make?

Is there a contact you could reach out to?

Is there an application you need to fill out, paperwork you’ve been putting off, equipment you need to buy?

Here’s another dose of inspiration from ABCs of Success to get you moving:

Positive thinking alone does not deliver, it does not fulfill. In fact, it frustrates, because it is not in harmony with what we do. Thinking positively about music will not make you a musician. Only singing and playing a musical instrument will bring you fulfillment.

The power of positive thought lies in its being expressed in a positive act. The thought of love finds its fulfillment in loving. Thoughts of joy find their power in laughter. Faith without action is dead.

Picture your vision, your desired object, your results, out on a road in front of you. Close enough to see clearly. Not retreating. But not moving forward either. Waiting for you to come to it.

So begin now. Every action you take, no matter how small, is literally a step towards that vision. When you reach it, magic will happen.

To your success,

Bob Proctor
