On October 30, 2020, I opened a document from a shared google drive. This document was a list of recommended topics, from my team, for me to record videos and post them online. As I looked at the list, I could see that the next video topic recommendation was: How to write your first fiction book.
The first thing that crossed my mind was that I have never written a fiction book. Even though I teach authors how to write, publish/self-publish and market their books, and I have 18 books published worldwide, not one of them is a fiction book.
Fortunately, I have studied and taught how to write fiction, as part of my complete author program, and have guided numerous fiction and non-fiction authors for many years.
Staring at the topic idea for the next video, a thought entered my mind: maybe it is time for me to write my first fiction book.
Previously I didn’t believe it was possible for me to write fiction. This is when the quote from William James came into my consciousness: “Believe and your belief will create the fact.”
At that very moment, I created a new belief that not only would I write a fiction book, I was going to write an amazing book!
I set a date for completion, and I got on with the work. I gave myself ten days to write the book, and I immediately scheduled time in my agenda for my writing, wherever there were available hours.
When I started the book, I had no idea what the title would be, nor did I have the names figured out for the characters in my book. What I did have was faith in the outcome and the idea for the story.
To a large degree I trusted that the perfect book title, the perfect character names, and the plot would all unfold … and unfold it did!
I found myself in another dimension that I’ve never been in before. I completely surrendered to the Universe and allowed the story to flow naturally. It truly was the most fun I have ever had with writing a book.
The first chapter flowed with ease and it felt good. Chapter by chapter the story unfolded.
I wrote the book in nine days! The only thing missing was the final letter from Savy (a character based on Bob Proctor) to Sophie, the main character. Originally I was going to write the letter myself, instead I made a decision to ask Bob Proctor if he’d be willing to write it. I then emailed Bob with my request, and he immediately replied and said, “Absolutely I would love to!” I was over the moon happy!
Within a few days Bob wrote the most perfect ending to the book: the letter from Savy to Sophie.
The final draft was sent to the editor to clean up grammar, spelling, and any inconsistencies. One week later, the book was ready to go into production.
Proof copies were also emailed to a few select contacts, and within days, the response was unlike anything I’ve ever received before. I received texts, phone calls, and emails saying things like:
“An absolute page turner!”
“I cried and was moved unlike any other book I have ever read before.”
“This book needs to be out in the world now to help heal the pain.”
“This is the best parable I have ever read.”
Receiving these types of comments from readers is every author’s dream. It’s heart-warming to know that an author’s book is making such a positive contribution in the world.
Bob Proctor is certain that SAVY WISDOM will be a classic and will reach millions; I feel it too!
Is it possible that this story is the reason for my existence on this planet? I believe it is. At this point in my life, I believe SAVY WISDOM is the reason why I am here. That may sound like a bold statement, but I believe my path has led me here to share this story and inspire others to change their life.
SAVY WISDOM has a subtitle, as suggested by Bob, that says: It Has The Power To Change Your Life. The truth is it changed mine. My hope is that it changes yours too.
