How to Eliminate Fear

You can’t take a pill or push a button to eliminate fear from your life. Everyone is afraid of something at some point.

But, that doesn’t mean you should let fear control you.

And that’s exactly what it is doing. Whether you’re afraid of flying or starting a business, the fear is controlling your feelings, and that’s controlling your behavior, which creates your results. In the meantime, your life is shrinking.

What’s really stopping you from doing what you want to do isn’t fear; it’s ignorance …

You don’t know where the money for the new business you want to start will come from, so you keep putting off getting started.

You don’t know much about the publishing industry so you’re afraid to start writing a book.

You’re not able to see where all the things you will need for the manifestation of your new idea will come from, so you don’t act on it.

Your ignorance causes a destructive mental process to begin to take place. You become so uncomfortable that you focus on the negative side of the situation and as a result, the negative side of life. Such thinking prevents you from continuing to move onward and upward in the direction of your goal.

So what should you do?

Stop playing it safe and face the thing you fear. Study it. Journal about it. Talk to a mentor about it. Do whatever it takes to begin to understand it.

Understanding allows you to step forward into growth and freedom. You will still feel the doubt, fear and anxiety, but because you’ve studied it, you’ll know if you persist it will leave.

By continually focusing on the idea of what you want and acting on it—in spite of the fear—over a relatively short period of time, your conditioning changes and you are living in a brand new world.

My business partner, Sandra Gallagher, says, “Fear and growth go hand in hand. When you courageously face the thing you fear, you automatically experience the growth you have been seeking.”

I couldn’t put it any better myself.

Don’t allow fear to limit your life another minute. Instead of stepping back into safety, step forward into your freedom.
