The Key to Freedom from Fear

Although it’s never easy to face and walk through fear, when you understand what’s really causing your anxiety, you know how to reverse it.

You see, fear is usually a reaction to something that is happening around you, but the feeling of fear arises within you. In other words, you are the source of your fear, not your circumstances.

The good news is since you created the feeling, you can take it away.

How?

First, instead of letting the outside world control you, take the power that is always flowing into your consciousness and build life-enhancing ideas or images in your mind.

And second, when something “bad” happens, take a moment to respond instead of automatically reacting to what’s going on.

The choice is yours…

You can continue to automatically think thoughts that cause doubt and anxiety whenever something happens that you’re uncomfortable with.

Or you can consciously choose empowering thoughts that make you feel more at ease.

You can significantly reduce or eliminate worry, doubt and fear through understanding. Watch the video above, again and again, to help you better understand where fearful feelings come from and how to change them.

And with the in-depth study, you can gain a wisdom that causes you to consistently make choices that lead to well-being and growth rather than anxiety and disintegration.

As you’re mastering this ability, here are 5 simple techniques you can use to help you break through fear the next time it is keeping you from doing something you really want or need to do.

1. Change your posture and expression.

Standing up straight and putting a smile on your face can make you feel better and more confident right away. This is so simple to do; yet few people take advantage of it.

Do it right now. Just stand or sit up straighter and smile, and you’ll feel better immediately.

2. Flip the script.

As I showed you in the video, fear comes from negative thoughts—worry and doubts about what might happen. We spend a lot of time thinking about ‘what ifs,’ but most of our fears never actually materialize.

The next time you find yourself overwhelmed by all the scary things that might happen, flip the script. Flood your mind with images of what you really want to happen and positive affirmations.

3. Be grateful.

Gratitude is one of the most powerful emotions you can have. So powerful, in fact, that there’s no room for fear, worry or doubt inside a grateful mind.

So, the next time you feel fearful, think about several things you are grateful for and really feel the gratitude. I know that’s a pretty tall order, but if you do it, everything will start to shift in an instant.

4. Imagine a successful outcome.

Whenever you’re afraid of something, step back and imagine yourself successfully completing the task or overcoming the obstacle you’re facing.

Picture yourself having already succeeded. Imagine the accolades you’ll receive, the balance in your bank account growing, or the joy you’ll feel when you’ve accomplished it. Really let yourself experience the emotions you’ll feel when you succeed.

Visualize your success over and over, and hold the image of it in your mind. This will direct your focus to what you want, rather than what you don’t want—to achievement, rather than fear.

5. Take one step, despite your fear.

When we go through life reacting to what’s going on in the outside world, it’s easy to let doubt and worry take over our thoughts and emotions. Sometimes all we need to overcome fear is just to take a small step toward what we want—even when we have no idea what the next step will or should be.

Jumping in and taking action can not only help us gain momentum, but it can also reveal what the next step should be. Before we know it, the obstacles and outcomes we were so worried about begin to disappear.

Doing any of these techniques can show you that worry, doubt and anxiety are no match for the incredible power that’s inside you.
