The Law of Giving

This month is a season of giving for millions around the world.

For many, that means pulling out their wallet, spending big bucks on gifts for loved ones, and donating time, money, or other items to those in need.

I want to suggest that instead of reserving a season for giving, you decide to give year-round.

Don’t let the idea of giving year-round make you uncomfortable.

Instead of worrying about giving more than you can afford, understand that the more you give, the more you will receive.

Work with the Universe

The universe wants us to have an abundant life, and it will support us in making this a reality.

However, it cannot and will not do it alone. We must do our part. And we do that by giving to others.

This is one of the most powerful principles of all time.

I got my first glimpse of the power of giving when I was a young boy.

One day after work, my mother handed me ten of her hard-earned dollars to give to a family in need. Those ten dollars made a real difference for that family.

My mother’s act touched something inside me. I have been giving with an open heart ever since—whether it’s money, my time to help a friend or an organization, or offering helpful advice.

The result is not burnout or bankruptcy. It’s a joyful, healthy, and abundant life.

And it all happens by law.

It’s This Simple

The Law of Giving says the more you give of yourself without expecting a return, the more that will come back to you.

That’s because we live in an ocean of motion—nothing stands still. There’s a constant flow of energy in our universe, and this energy flows to and through us.

The flow of money, relationships, and opportunities in our lives mirror our flow of energy interacting with the universal field of energy around us.

How It Works

Our thoughts and actions are in constant and dynamic exchange with the creative forces of the universe.

We can manage this exchange by giving exactly what we wish to receive, including money.

Money, like everything else in the universe, is energy. Like a calorie is a physical unit of energy, a dollar is simply a unit of value as energy. We exchange money for something of value.

If you hoard or stop the flow of energy by stopping the flow of money out of your life, you stop the flow of it coming in. However, circulating and investing your energy allows the flow to remain alive and your life and body to stay healthy.

Giving always produces receiving. If you stop the flow of either, you derail your life from its alignment with universal laws and principles.

The Return Is Directly Proportional To What You Give

A prayer and expressing appreciation are forms of giving because they direct energy outward.

Like the ebb and tide of the ocean, what goes out always comes back. So, if the thought intends to create health, wellbeing, or joy for the receiver, that’s what returns to the giver.

And when you give without conditions and from your heart, the return is always directly proportional to what you give.

You and I are bundles of consciousness (energy) connected with each other and every other bundle of consciousness. Any movement or thought has a ripple effect, touching everyone and everything.

That’s why a thought, which is a concentrated electrical impulse, has the power to transform what it remains focused on. This transformation includes transmuting formless energy into matter while attracting the right people, situations, and resources in response to our desires.

What Do You Want?

Life is like a dance choreographed by universal laws.

To dance well, we must hear the music and respond to its natural ebbs and flows, like the cycles of nature.

We activate this flow by giving what we wish to receive.

So, if you want joy, give joy to others.

If you want love, give love.

If you long for attention, show appreciation.

If you seek wealth, seek to help others become wealthy.

By directing your thoughts, you can initiate the exchange of what you want in any area of your life.

As you begin to align spiritually with universal laws, you will start to experience beautiful synchronicities as you point your thoughts, actions, and money in the direction of your desires.

And, as you give, you will see the flow return to you, and your faith in the process will grow exponentially.

Decide To Give Wherever You Go

2020 has been an unusual year. You may feel like you’re in limbo, and your attitude about your ability to give may have changed.

However, as we prepare for a new year, it’s a great time to start developing a new mindset where you give generously of yourself and consistently make others feel better—even if you have to do it from a distance.

Give others kindness, compassion, a loving thought—or anything else you want in your life.

As you practice giving away small things, you will attract back to yourself the confidence to share even more. And the universe will respond favorably.

Try it. I promise you’ll be glad that you did.

We wish you and your loved ones a healthy and happy holiday season.

To your success,

Bob Proctor
